Prior to meeting Marvin, I was working at a warehouse for a large company. Exhausted physically and mentally from manual labor, working grueling hours through the night, and how “little” a position like that can make you feel, I knew after roughly 6 years I had to make a change. And change can be scary! I decided to give sales a shot. Meeting Marvin at Zones, he not only gave me an opportunity for a better life, but he believed in me. Knowing I didn’t have sales experience, his motivation and positivity day in and day out was refreshing - This allowed me the space and freedom to grow in an element that I was VERY unfamiliar with. Marvin coached me by being someone you not only looked up to as a leader in a professional environment, but stories from his personal life are truly inspiring. How do you take a kid like me, without a college degree, no sales experience, and turn him into a top performer at his career in just a couple years? Well, he believed in me. He coaches through experience and was always real with me. Whether it was the smallest of sales or the biggest, Marvin would always “gas” me up and make me feel good, which was truly inspiring. I can’t thank him enough for this opportunity - This last year I made Platinum at work and if it wasn’t for Marv, I wouldn’t even know what it’s like living the way I do now. Through life, there are certain individuals that cross your path and change your life and hopefully for the better. Marvin has truly made my life better

Starting at the age of 12, I learned to navigate through life independently and while I’ve persevered through hardships myself, it wasn’t until I had the opportunity to gain a mentor like Marvin that my entire mindset shifted in such a way that I attribute many successes to his influence. Prior to his mentorship, I spent a lot of time reflecting on areas in my life that I felt room for improvement in. Confidence was a big one. And when we hear the word confidence, we don't realize the weight that word carries. It goes far beyond appreciating the way you look or how good you are at something. True confidence is created based on your mindset. And Marvin has helped strengthen my mindset to where I have lived my life differently than I would have if I hadn’t been mentored by him. From building a successful career to traveling the world alone and taking risks that have brought beautiful opportunities my way…I am forever thankful and excited to witness the continued impact Marvin has in this world.

I have known Marvin Kasim since 2017. He was initially my sales manager at an IT firm. Since then, he has become not only my mentor but like a dad to me. He has guided me through my career and personal life. He brought a lot of insight into my life. I was at a turning point financially and confused about how to navigate life in the United States. As an immigrant from West Africa, I had no one or family in the United States. Words alone can NOT express the impact Marvin Kasim has made in my career and personal life; money can't buy the encouragement, support, insight, suggestions, and encouragement Marvin Kasim contributed to my life. Today am living life and doing what I love, and I am happy and making an impact while educating future leaders daily in different school districts across the globe. It's not because we have similar goals and visions in life or the fact, we have the same lineage. He has also helped many other young and older folks, and yes, we can walk on and through “FIRE” and get things done regardless of our backgrounds. Marvin Kasim will always be a dad figure and mentor in my life, and we owe our ancestors the responsibility to make a difference.

As a new manager joining our team at Zones, one of his immediate initiatives was to genuinely get to know each one of us while building a strong team bond among us.
